The festival has attracted an incredibly high number of submissions this year, with filmmakers from 117 countries<\/strong> sending in a total of 3121<\/strong> films for consideration.<\/p>\n This second edition of the Migranti Film Festival will seek to bring out positivity, focusing on the self-awareness of migrants, the search for authentic interactions, the pleasures of being together and the importance of approaches based on listening and care for others. The films will tell stories of recovery, of creativity as salvation, of migrants\u2019 food and of their countries of origin. New this year is a section dedicated to comedies<\/strong>, offering smiles but also reflection.<\/p>\n The festival\u2019s strong social mission will be confirmed with conferences, meetings, exhibitions, performances, workshops, children\u2019s activities, migrant cooking and sport<\/strong>. Many of these will be organized thanks to significant partnerships with organizations like UNHCR, the Rai3 \u201cRadici\u201d program, M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res and the Balon Mundial association.<\/p>\n The Migranti Film Festival<\/em> will also be enriched by important national and international collaborations<\/strong>: with the Seattle International Film Festival, the International Environmental Film Festival in Buenos Aires, the Greenwich International Film Festival in New York and the Sudestival in Monopoli, Italy.<\/p>\n One of the festival\u2019s key aims is to give space to younger generations, and to this end the jury for the Shorts section<\/strong> will be composed of high school students from Bra and Alba. The jury for the Features and Documentaries sections<\/strong> will be made up of notable figures from culture and film: writer and journalist Stefania Barzini<\/strong>, actor Giuseppe Cederna<\/strong>, television writer Carlo Freccero<\/strong>, film critic Enrico Magrelli<\/strong>, actor and director Angelo Orlando<\/strong>, La Stampa <\/em>journalist Francesca Paci<\/strong> and journalist Valentina Parasecolo<\/strong>. The winner of the Comedies<\/strong> section will be judged by the audiences at the screenings.<\/p>\n The first day of the festival will be organized in the center of Bra, with events including the announcement of the winners of the \u201cPiacere di conoscerti \u2013 incontro tra culture\u201d<\/strong> (\u201cNice to meet you \u2013 Meeting between cultures\u201d) competition, which welcomed 730 submissions from schoolchildren across the provinces of Cuneo, Turin and the rest of Italy.<\/p>\n From Saturday to Monday the festival will return to its usual home of the UNISG campus in Pollenzo<\/strong>, with a packed program of events and activities: screenings of the documentaries and films in and out of competition, of course, but also workshops on world food and drink organized by university students, four kitchens run by migrant communities from different countries serving their traditional dishes every day, performances, children\u2019s activities, interactive exhibitions and much more.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/old.unisg.oiss.io\/assets\/migranti_film_festival_rewind_pollenzo_unisgUNI_7788-1.jpg\")
