BIOGRAPHY
Dina Moawad is a Research Fellow at the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, where she is currently engaged in a research project named “STAPLES STable food Access and Prices and Lower Exposure to Shocks”
She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Naples Parthenope, an Advanced Master’s degree in Agriculture Political Economy from the University of Naples Federico II, a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Florence University in Italy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Egypt.
Before starting her PhD, she was a research fellow at the University of King’s College in the faculty of social science and public policy. She was also a guest research assistant in the Development Research Group of the IIASA in Austria. She worked on the statistical team at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome.
Her current work focuses on shocks and the Agrifood Global Value Chain (GVC). Previously, she also worked on shocks related to human mobility, measuring the economic, social, and political effects on people’s movements caused by external shocks, such as natural disasters, climate change, and health-related shocks like COVID-19.
