Mentoring has been an active service within the University of Gastronomic Sciences since its foundation.

It is an individual tutoring service aimed at providing students with support, guidance, and encouragement throughout their academic journey, as well as fostering their personal and professional development from the moment they enter UniSG. Mentors, selected from among the academic staff (faculty members, researchers, and postdoctoral fellows), regularly monitor the academic progress of their assigned students in order to intervene promptly in cases of evident difficulty, with the aim of preventing dropout and academic disengagement.

Mentoring is not a psychological support service, as UniSG already provides dedicated support for students experiencing psychological distress. Nor is Mentoring intended to collect feedback regarding the quality of services or educational activities, in order to avoid overlap with the functions of other actors/tools specifically established for those purposes.
