New Degrees in Pollenzo on Friday July 26

Friday July 26 will be another graduation day at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo with nine students from Italy, Turkey and Bulgaria present their Gastronomic Sciences and Promotion and Management of the Gastronomic and Tourist Heritage degree theses.
The theses will be presented from 9.30am in the great hall of the Cascina Albertina complex, after which a proclamation ceremony will be held.

Here is a list of the students and their thesis titles.

 

Three-year undergraduate degree course

  • Ekin Erdem, 22, from Istanbul (Turkey): “Le piante spontanee di uso alimentare in Turchia” (Wild edible plants in Turkey). Supervisor Prof. Andrea Pieroni.
  • Giulia Mattalia, 22, from Chieri (Turin): “Orti alpini: patrimoni di diversità agrobioculturale, analisi della Valle Pellice e della Valle Po” (Alpine gardens: treasures of agrobiocultural diversity. An analysis of the Valle Pellice and the Valle Po). Supervisor Prof. Paola Migliorini.
  • Davide Morando Chiaramello, 23, from Chieri (Turin): “Il cibo della quotidianità ed eccezionalità durante la seconda guerra mondiale in alcune aree del Piemonte” (Makeshift everyday food in some areas of Piedmont during World War II). Supervisor Prof. Piercarlo Grimaldi.
  • Andrea Testa, 32, from Milan: “La filiera corta nell’allevamento bovino e nuova distribuzione” (The short supply chain in cattle breeding and new distribution). Supervisor Prof. Antonio Montanari.
  • Veselin Veselinov Daskalov, 26, from Varna (Bulgaria) “Le piante spontanee alimentari e medicinali usate dai Sarakatsani nel territorio di Sliven, Bulgaria” (Wild edible and medicinal plants used by the Sarakatsani in the Sliven area of Bulgaria). Prof. Andrea Pieroni.

 

Two-year graduate degree course

  • Maria Pia Giubertoni, 23, from Marmirolo (Mantua): “La tavola del potere: dall’Unità d’Italia ai giorni nostri” (Power at the table: from the Unification of Italy to the present day). Supervisor Prof. Antonella Campanini.
  • Marco Meistro, 26, from Rivalta di Torino (Turin): “Analisi economica e giuridica dello start-up d’impresa. Caso di studio: Evoluzione delle risorse umane di Eataly Roma” (Economic and juridical analysis of a business start-up. A study case: the evolution of human resources at Eataly in Rome). Valter Cantino.
  • Elisa Padoin, 24, from Grugliasco (Turin): “Definizione di linee guida per l’applicazione della Norma UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 ad un birrificio artigianale” (Definition of guidelines for the application of the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 standard to a craft brewery). Supervisor  Claudio Zeppa.
  • Isabella Carboncini, 23, from Settala (Milan): “Il mercato dei prodotti biologici in alcuni paesi extra-Ue” (The organic product market in some countries outside the EU). Supervisor Claudio Malagoli.
