A Three-day workshop in Pollenzo from Monday, September 17 to Wednesday, September 19, 2018 with scholars and researchers from 28 international universities
From Monday, September 17th to Wednesday, September 19th 2018, Pollenzo will be hosting NextFood WP2, an important international meeting aimed at educating the next generation of professionals in the agrifood system.
Professors and researchers, from 28 international universities and research departments, will be discussing a new transformative and participative learning model for younger generations.
Participants come from University of Oradea in Romania; Mekelle University in Ethiopia; ISEKI Food Association in Austria; American Farm School in Greece; Skogbrukets forskningsinstitut in Sweden; University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic; University of Calcutta in India; CIHEAM Bari, Italy; Kerala University in India; SEKEM in Egypt; NMBU in Norway; SLU in Sweden; Copenhagen University College in Denmark; Bologna University, in Italy; and The University of Gastronomic Sciences is represented by Paola Migliorini, Assistant Professor in Agronomy and Plant Production Systems.
They will discuss experiential and action learning in sustainable gastronomy, agroecology and sustainable farming systems; how students and farmers are taking food innovations from idea to market; how one can learn Farmers Training Centres; and community practices for Sustainable Agriculture Development.
The purpose of this international research project is to support the transition to collaborative and action-oriented education and learning in agrifood and forestry systems.
The three-day workshop is taking place at the University of Gastronomic Sciences, in Pollenzo. It’s the second step of the project after the kick-off meeting that took place in Malmö, Sweden, in May 2018. NextFood is one of the fundamental international research projects, included in the Horizon 2020 EU programme, involving UNISG in the fields of agroecology, food system and education.
