Ever since it was founded, in 2004, the University of Gastronomic Sciences has always been committed to ensuring that any students who meet the academic and financial aid requirements can have the chance to study in Pollenzo.

The numbers speak for themselves: The total amount allotted to supporting the right to study over the last 12 years is over €7.5 million of UNISG’s own funds, almost 10% of the university’s budget.

This significant investment is guaranteed by the university itself, in part supported by sponsorship from the many companies, foundations and institutions who believe in the UNISG project. A total of 32 of these have to date invested €2,836,000 into scholarships.

Over 200 students have benefitted from this support for the right to study: 88 from Italy and the rest from 41 different countries.

In some cases, as well as covering their fees, UNISG has also contributed to paying a share of the student’s board, lodging and living expenses.

This important commitment will be the subject of a meeting on Tuesday January 31 at 4.45 pm,  to be held in the Aula Magna in Pollenzo, which will attended by a number of scholarship supporters.

This will be a chance for both the scholarship recipients and the companies, foundations and institutions who support the university to get to know each other. The students will share their stories, their motivations and their dreams for the future, which, thanks to their experience at Pollenzo, they will soon be able to make a reality.

Also speaking at the meeting, along with the students and the supporters, will be Carlo Petrini, the president of UNISG, and Piercarlo Grimaldi, the university’s dean.
