The renowned legend of Italian cuisine will be at Pollenzo on Monday December 11
In 2002, Massimiliano Alajmo, of the restaurant Le Calandre in Sarmeola di Rubano in the province of Padua, made history as the youngest chef in the world to receive three Michelin stars. This prestigious recognition was a reflection of his family background: The Alajmo clan has long dedicated themselves to haute cuisine. His mother Rita used to helm the Calandre kitchen and earned the restaurant its first star, in 1992, while his father Erminio is a celebrated restaurateur who now oversees the family company. Massimiliano’s sister Laura runs Calandrino, one of the group’s other restaurants, while his brother Raf is the CEO and business mind.

Massimiliano will be bringing three iconic dishes from Le Calandre to Pollenzo: a very special Christmas gift for the UNISG students who will have an exceptional opportunity to sample his cooking.

He will be preparing the following menu at the Academic Tables on Monday December 11: Cappuccetto Rosa, a vegetarian version of Massimiliano’s classic potato cappuccino (with potatoes, beets and black rice), followed by Guancia di manzo alla Canevera, beef cheek with mashed celeriac and turmeric, and finally the sumptuous Panettone con la sua salsa, a butter panettone with hazelnut praline, sour cherries and coffee with chocolate sauce.
