The winners of the Migranti Film Festival 2019

Best Feature Film “Loveling”; Best Documentary “Golden fish, African fish”; Best Short Film “Daughter’s table”


This year, the third edition of the Migranti Film Festival was, for the first time, held in both, Turin and Pollenzo. On the evening of Saturday, 29th of June, the various juries selected the 2019 winners.

The jury in the genre Feature Film, chaired by Laura Luchetti, was comprised of Emanuele Dughera, Marta Arosio, Nadia Tecco and chose the film “Loveling” (original title “Benzinho”) by Gustavo Pizzi (Brazil, Uruguay, Germany, 2018, 95’) as Best Feature Film.

The Documentary jury, chaired by Marco Müller and composed of Ascanio Celestini, Chef Rubio, Valentina Petrini, Stefano Cavallotto and Francesca Rinaudi chose “Golden fish, African fish” (original title “Poisson d’or, poisson africain”) by Thomas Grand (Senegal, 2018, 60’) as Best Documentary.

They also gave a special mention to “My home, in Lybia” by Martina Melilli (Italy, 2018, 66’).

The jury in the section Short Film, chaired by Mimmo Calopresti and consisting of Irene Dionisio, Paolo Vanni, Michela Marchi, Paola Nano chose “Daughter’s table” by Heui Song Son as the Best Short Film (South Korea, 2018, 17’).

The jury gave also a special mention to “The land we live in” (original title “La tierra que habitamos”) by Marco Aurelio Celis (Mexico, 2019, 4’).
